happy birthday honey...

stamps: sweet as honey from penny black, itty bitty banners from stampin up!
inks: archival ink pad (sepia), tim holtz ink pad (scattered straw, dried marigold, brushed corduroy, sakura (clear star) glitter pen
cardstock: craftwork cards digi cardstock, 6x4" card blank(trimmed slightly)
dies: hexagon hive thinlits die from stampin up! and sizzix plus big shot machine to cut it from sizzix

I chose a bee theme for this card, inspired by one of my new goodies... the hexagon hive !! I die cut my card and trimmed it to size, (I saved the hexagons it cuts out to layer on selected areas for a bit of added dimension.) I then stamped my little bees and water coloured them using my ink pad and a brush. I used my glitter pen to create a nice finish on the wings. i hand cut each of my bees out to allow me to bend them and stick them on for a 3D effect. the banner stamped with the sentiment was the final element i made before the card could be glued together for my take on the sketch.

flower power !!

stamps: say it all, petal parade from stampin' up!
inks: archival ink pad (jet black, magenta hue, aqua marine, venetian orange)
cardstock: craftwork cards digi cardstock, black 4x6" card blank

I cut a matt for the card blank and used the three colours to stamp the flowers in a scattered pattern. I then stamped the black scallop edge and added the strips of paper cut into banners, (which I had inked using the same ink pads as the background.) for an extra bit of detail, I stamped the banners with a pattern and a sentiment. the pieces were glued down to follow the sketch for a simple but fun design.

feathers for you....

stamps: dictionary, sweet essentials from stampin up! feather stamp free from craft stamper magazine
inks: tim holtz (tumbled glass, broken china) ink pad, archival (cobalt) ink pad
cardstock: craftwork cards digi cardstock, 4x4" cardblank

first, I inked the card blank blue. I then cut a mat of digi card to fit and stamped it with the sentiment and 3 feathers (in the cobalt). I made some background paper, stamped  with the dictionary print in the darker blue and inked all over in a lighter blue (using the tim holtz ink pads). I then stamped 3 feathers in the cobalt on the paper and cut them out. I glued them on top of the original stamped images on the mat to finish.

blue blossoms...

stamps: morning meadow banner greetings both (hostess) from stampin' up!
inks: archival (cobalt) ink pad
papers: my minds eyes oh la la for her paper pad
cardstock: 4x6" landscape card blank, gold glitter paper, craftwork cards digi cardstock

I started my card by doing my matting and layering, first is my card blank which I inked blue. I added gold glitter paper next, then a layer of digi cardstock that I inked blue again to co-ordinate. I then cut the final layer, to only leave a thin border showing, and used this as my stamping base. I stamped the flower branches, using the same blue ink as before, around the edges of my card. I stamped the banner message onto a scrap of digi card and cut it out (you could stamp it straight onto the card if you preferred). finally I glued all my layers together, being extra careful to get them straight. the banner was last to go on, to complete the sketch.

summer stiletto ...

stamps: fabulous you, express yourself (hostess) both from stampin' up!
inks: memento (tuxedo black) ink pack, promarkers
cardstock: 5x5" card blank, craftwork cards digi cardstock

I cut my mat to fit my card blank and stamped my image with my sentiment just below. I then coloured the image using bright, summer shades of promarkers. I also used a promarker to edge the mat before I glued it to the card blank to finish. I kept the card design simple to make the most of the image, highlighting the details in it, using the multiple colours.

walk the plank !!

stamps: walk the plank from lili of the valley, for my family from stampin' up!
inks: memento (tuxedo black) ink pad, promarkers
papers: dcwv all about boys stack
cardstock: craftwork cards digi cardstock, 5x7" kraft card blank and extra kraft cardstock

I chose two co-ordinating papers from the stack to match with my  theme (in this case the stamped image is pirates) I then cut the striped paper to mat onto the card blank. I then cut a strip out of the matching paper to layer on top. I stamped and coloured my image using promarkers and added the sentiment below. I then cut it out, and matted it onto some kraft card. I glued all the layers onto the card blank for the simple but effective card.

a forest friend ...

stamps: petite pairs & language of friendship from stampin' up! wallpaper and wood from stampers anonymous tim holtz collection
paper: we r memory keepers anthologie 6x6 paper pad, my minds eye away we go 6x6 designer paper pad plus 4x6" kraft landscape card blank
inks: archival (sepia) ink pad
punches: bird builder & lace ribbon border punch both from stampin' up!

after creating the woodland wishes card, I thought I would use the design to make an alternative. I stamped the kraft card blank with the wood print background. I used the punch to create the border to layer over it. I chose a soft patterned paper in coordinating colours for the topper, matted onto a piece of kraft cardstock. I used some more kraft card to stamp and punch out the bird and its branch. again I cut two branches, one kraft one green and trimmed them by hand to give the effect of a branch with green leaves. I assembled the card together, finished off with a birthday sentiment in the corner of the topper. I think it makes a lovely variation on the fun owl card I made.

woodland wishes...

stamps: tim holtz wallpaper and wood from stampers anonymous, petite pairs & perfect punches from stampin' up!
inks: archival ink pads (sepia)
papers: 6x6 away we go designer pad from my minds eye, happy days 6x6 designstax from papermania, kraft 6x4" landscape card bland plus extra kraft, cream & black cardstock and green patterned paper
punches: bird builder & owl builder punches from stampin' up!

first, i stamped my kraft card blank with the wood effect stamp from tim holtz. i added a strip of red patterned paper to my card. i then cut a mat out of kraft cardstock for the centre of my card and stamped it with the wood effect too. i layered it with a turquoise paper, stamped with my sentiment. i then created my topper by adding punched elements. i used the owl builder punch to make a owl, using the red patterned paper for the tummy, and added the heart above the sentiment as an embellishment. i then created the branch to stand him on (from the bird builder punch). i cut this once in kraft and once on green... it took a bit of time to trim the leaves off the branch, as it is small, but its worth the effort to get the layered look. the final touch i added was a tab detail to complete the sketch. i used a stamp from the perfect punch set, onto kraft and red patterned paper, cut them out, then layered them together. i glued this in place on the card then added the central topper using foam pads for dimension.

sprinkled pink !!

stamps: remembering your birthday, a cherry on top (hostess) from stampin' up!
inks: tim holtz distress ink pads (brushed corduroy, spun sugar worn lipstick & tattered rose) also need the markers (brushed corduroy & worn lipstick)
cardstock: craftwork cards digi cardstock, 6x4" kraft card blank plus kraft cardstock
extras: bakers twine(I used stampin' up! calypso coral, because it was the best match for this card), a pink button (this one is papermania), I also used the stamp-a-ma-jig.

I started by cutting a mat for the front of my card, I inked this using a pale pink then glued it down. I cut the white layer next, ready for stamping onto. I used the distress markers (from tim holtz) to ink up sections of the stamp I wanted different colours, to add emphasis to some of the words in the sentiment. I then stamped the three cupcake wrappers in a row above and added the cupcake frosting tops using three different shades of pink ink pads, (the stamp-a-ma-jig was used to help line everything up.) I inked strips of card using the darker shade of pink and added these to my top white layer, placing one behind to create a thin border and one in front. I then wrapped bakers twine around the bottom pink panel and secured it at the back. I cut a small banner out of a scrap of kraft cardstock and added this to the topper. I knotted some more bakers twine through a pink button and glued it to the top of the banner. I added the topper to the card to complete.

inside
for the inside of the card I simply cut a mat to size, in white digi cardstock and stamped my sentiment in centre using brown ink. for a special touch I added a cupcake at the bottom corner, by stamping the bun case in place then lining up the frosting top with the stamp-a-ma-jig.
